Substitute Password
Set a separate password your substitute can use for the bottom-right action buttons (Undo Last Sign-In, Sign In All Students). Settings and Gallery still require your master password. Leave blank to disable.

Auto-Lock
After this much idle time, the kiosk locks and requires the password (or sub password) to use again. Set to Never if you'd rather rely on the screen-dim feature alone (see below).

Screen Dim
After this many seconds of no activity, fade the kiosk to a quiet dimmed state so it isn't distracting students. Any tap, hand wave, or QR scan wakes it back up instantly. Set to Off to disable.

End-of-Day Lock
Automatically lock the kiosk at a specific time each day so it can't be used after hours. Defaults to 2:40 PM on weekdays. Toggle individual days off if your schedule varies.

Students pick their name when signing out. Each student picks a secret animal at sign-out that they'll need to remember to sign back in.

🎫 Classroom Passes — shared sign-out cards
Generic numbered cards any student can grab. Unlike per-student QR cards above, these aren't tied to names. A student picks up Pass #1, scans it, picks a reason, and is signed out as Guest #1. Scan the same card when they return to sign them back in. Only one student can be out per card at a time — acts like a traditional physical hall pass.
How many Classroom Passes?
Students who don't want their photo taken can grab the dark privacy card. Logs an anonymous sign-out — no name, no photo — just reason and time. Any student can grab it; multiple can be out simultaneously.
🔳 QR cards — print laminated sign-out cards
Each student in this class has a number (the #N next to their name above). Numbers are per-class — the same physical card #4 will sign out whoever is #4 in the active class period. One set of laminated cards works for every class on this iPad.
Configure when each class meets. brb. will automatically switch to the right class at the start of each period.
Manual switching always overrides auto-switch — but only until the next period boundary.

Archived classes are kept here so you don't lose data when you stop using a class. You can restore them or delete them permanently.

🚩 Frequent-Flyer Alerts
A red flag appears next to any student who exceeds either limit on a given day. Medically-excused students are never flagged.
📸 Photos stay inside brb. — they never save to your iPad's Photo Library or your Chromebook's Downloads folder unless you tap Export Photos (ZIP) above. Photos auto-delete after 30 days to keep brb. fast; pass records (name, time, reason) stick around longer for trends.
